Justin Bieber has been dubbed the Canadian Newsmaker Of The Year.

The Ottawa Citizen has given him the title based on the sheer amount of column inches he has taken up throughout 2012.

The star's relationship with Selena Gomez, chart success with second album Believe and allegations surrounding his behaviour have kept him in headlines constantly over the last twelve months.



Biebs had 17% of the vote, ahead of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper with 15%. The survey was conducted by Ipsos Reid for Postmedia News and Global Television.

Bieber shows no signs of calming down any time soon - he will be on tour for a lot of 2013, and also plans to release to an acoustic album.

He has recently been photographed cuddled up to Selena Gomez at an airport, suggesting they are now firmly reconciled.
